What causes neuropathy? Diabetes is one of the leading causes of neuropathy,2 but there are also many other possible causes. Autoimmune diseases, hereditary conditions and certain medications (including those used in chemotherapy) can cause neuropathy.1 Peripheral nerve damage can also occur if you are injured or in an accident.1
Relief from neuropathy: Studies have shown how low-level laser therapy (LLLT) can help to control diabetic neuropathic pain and improve the lives of patients.3 It does this by triggering biochemical changes in the cells.3 Not only that, LLLT can also improve symptoms like numbness, by helping to regenerate damaged or injured peripheral nerve tissue.4
coMra devices (coherence achieved through Modulation of different radiances) allow you to use LLLT at home as part of your day-to-day routine. There are numerous coMra protocols available to help with the symptoms of neuropathy.

WELLNESS HABITS FOR MANAGING NEUROPATHY
Living with neuropathy can be challenging, but there are steps you can take to make it easier to cope while you work through your treatment:5
- Get regular exercise, which helps with circulation, digestion, muscle strength and overall wellbeing.
- Eat a balanced diet that includes plenty of fruits, vegetables and whole grains.
- Massage the affected areas, to improve circulation, stimulate the nerves and ease pain or discomfort.
- Quit smoking. Smoking cigarettes can affect your circulation, plus it damages your overall health and wellness.
- Avoid sitting or standing in a way that puts pressure on your affected nerves.
- If you are diabetic, take good care of your feet. Avoid wearing tight shoes and socks, and check your feet regularly for blisters, callouses etc. Cotton socks and padded shoes can help to keep sore or swollen feet cool and comfortable.
